    Respected/ importers of poultry meat, table eggs and their products and equipment

     

    Asharqia Chamber presents its best greetings to you, and would like to inform you of receiving the letter of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (62916 / GS) dated 24/10/1439, which noted that on the basis of the Immediate Report of the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) No. 27091 dated 15/10/1439(29/6/2018) that reports the emergence of highly pathogenic avian influenza (H5) in the Republic of Ghana.

     

    The Authority's decision No. 62056 / S dated 20/10/1439 issued a temporary ban on the importation of poultry meat, table eggs, products and equipment from the Republic of Ghana due to the appearance of highly pathogenic avian influenza.

     

    The only exception of the temporary ban on poultry meat, table eggs and their products is the products that are treated thermally or in any other way that can eliminate the avian influenza virus, in accordance with the requirements and health controls and approved standard specifications, with a health certificate attesting that the product is thermally treated or in any other way capable of eliminating the virus Avian influenza, and to be issued by the relevant official authorities of the Republic of Ghana.

     

    This temporary ban continues until the health status of livestock is stabilized.​
